Lately, Ive been on hibernation mode because of finals, but i LOVE every bit it. I love to work on what im passionate about, and though at times it gets a little challenging. I still maintain to stay on top of my toes, and work extremely hard on my creations/designs.

So we have this final project for my computer generated pattern drafting class which includes:
-Mood board and title of your collection.
-Philosophy page.
-Color story, (name colors according to the theme).
-Swatches, (we have to make sure that we have the contents and the fabric name).
-Colored fashion sketches of your collection
-Technical flats for all ensembles.
-Technical descripition for all ensembles.
-Print all conputer generated patterns for all ensembles.
-Quarter scales for the most complex ensemble.
-Organize all the elements to create an easy to follow portfolio.

On top of that, I also have to make a couture dress for my couture techniques class, (mostly hand sewn, all made from scratch)
And my entreprenuership class, where we have to make a business plan, target market, blah blah blah. This is basically some of what I have to do in a nutshell.

So I have this concept in mind about what my collection will be for my computer generated pattern drafting class a month in advanced of my finals, and I wanted it to be based off of pastries. For example: cupcakes, red velvet cake (my fav), chiffon cake, cheescake, carrot cake, and cake you can ever think of. Got everything planned out. And im really excited about it. Im checking off the list of what NEEDS to be done. . . . . . . .

Suddenly, Today: June 9, 2009. The fashion addict that I am. I browse through fashion blogs and sites, and I run into this.

FASHION SHOW EXTRAVAGANZA!

THIS week has been quite crazzy mixed with fun. I feel that I dont have to worry about anything right now but to just focus on myself and just know what I want without any judgement. Its a great feeling. I have awesome family and friends, and thats all that I need.

Yesterday, I helped with my school's 'Imagine' fashion show. I helped with production and dressing models. The show went smoothly, and it was fanntaastic! I loved every bit of it. I can do that shit for a living. I love the intensity if it all.

Pre fashion show set up. I got to watch the pre dress rehearsal, but I didnt get to watch the actual show. I was backstage. But it was still amazing!

I had a looongg day that day, very tiring. But it was all worth it.

Moving on seems to be the right step for me, change can be a good thing as time takes its place. Im a true believer in good things happen to good people. I truly put my all into people that I love and care about, I will go out of my way for them and I will make time for my family and friends for those in need.

This is going to be a NEW year for me. A 'change' and its going to be great! I feel it in my skin.

I just want to THANK all my friends who have been there for me through it all, and I appreciate every crumb of it.

Draping II

Im trying to maintain this whole blog deal, lol.

But anyways, Ive been wanting to share with you guys my Draping II final project. Basically, throughout the whole quarter we learned how to create a cowl neck shirt, a peg skirt, a knitted top, a shawl collar, a bias dress, a circle skirt, and more (im sure), i just cant remember. But anywho, our final project is to interpret it into OUR own designs, and here is what I came up with......

This is the FRONT i wanted big lapels, and for it to be a little asymmetrical. The skirt is pegged but i wanted the sides to be more dramatic and droopy. (Sorry its a little blurry)

The BACK is actually an accident. Lol I never really designed a 'back' I just came up with it while i was draping it, and you usually start getting ideas more while you drape instead of drawing it beforehand.

This is the SIDE, this one I actually planned to do, it was the hardest part of the piece. It took a while trying to drape the side cowl sleeve. I wanted it as dramatic as it can be, lol. and I came up with mad droops. Im satisfied.

I will be setting up a photoshoot for all of the other ones that i made previous to this project, very soon. So stay tuned...

I dont understand why people always try to prove that their 'cool'

Some people try so hard for other people to think that they are, and gear up a competition whether its with clothes, accessories, etc. (whooo fuuuccking cares!!!)

I wear clothes cause they look good on me, or i just simply like it.

I go shopping pick out what i like to wear with no influence, but my own.

Dont get me wrong, i get inspired by fashion designers that create a piece of clothing through inspiration, in which you manipulate it into your own design.

And manipulating it into your own design builds your own individuality.

Ughh!! (im not done with this yet)

Time to eat sushi.

So today, I slept late and woke up early cause I couldnt sleep, after the whole careless actions that was presented yesterday I couldnt seem to understand the reason being of the situation and why it had to happen that way.

PEOPLE: If you care for someone you should be willing to make time and effort into that person, no matter what. Take anytime, even if its 1 second of your time it will make such a difference in that person that needs you. Alot of people dont realize the importance of time you spend on someone that is worth spending your time with. Its really not too much to ask for.

Its very unfortunate how things happen to be that way.

It feels great coming back to Chicago, Its my home now. I love it. Once you live in Chicago, it sucks you up like a leech! Haha! You would never want to leave.

Theres nothing like a train ride back to Chicago.

The trip was an hour and 15-20 min. But I love it, its not your typical red line back home. The ride back was very relaxing and I got some time to think about things. Ergo, I was mostly listening to this song by Joy Division- Disorder. Amazing song. I can never get sick of it, I played it over and over again.

I didnt get much sleep last night. I thought about it for a loonggg time. What should I do? At this point im just numb. I cant stand being this way. It happens every quite often.

On another note, I just had the best cheese omelette, which made my morning! :)

Tonight is gonna be fun, I cant wait.

I think this week has been quite stressful, (fam stuff) being home feels great though.

SAUL WILLIAMS

So, I started spring break just recently. My last day was last thursday which was March 19th and I am thrilled! I worked extremely hard on my final projects and im sure (hope) I got good grades.

I want to share with you guys one of my final projects, it was my final portfolio for my humanities and arts class and basically we had to select a piece of art that we experienced. It can be a theatrical work (an opera, play, or musical); an exhibit of an artist's selected works such as a painter, sculptor or photographer on display at a museum, or a music concert.

Ergo, I picked.... (drum roll please!).... Saul Williams!

I saw him at lollapalooza last year, and his performance was amazing (first performance I saw once i got there). Its like everything he says is pleasing to the audience. If someone that didnt know about him and attended his concert/spoken word. They would go home and research the shit out of this guy. Lol! Also, you guys have to check out his movie slam. I guarantee you will all love it.

For those of you who dont know, Saul Williams is an American poet, writer, musician, and actor. Saul Williams expresses himself through music, its another expressive art to release his mood and inspiration from day to day experiences. It's what he discovers to escape from the realm of sounds and its different forms. Acting is another form of expression, its the way he conveys his traits. Its what causes him to observe a distinction of a person. It enhances his individuality. Performance is his by far favorite medium of art.

I dont want to go too much into it. Cause I will write a whole novel. This dude is insanely smart.

CHECKING

Today, I woke up with a bad feeling, (no clue why) its one of those feelings were I felt that there's something wrong but I dont quite know what it is. (Which always happens to me)

I had a very productive day today. But first, I had a headache that never escaped, no matter how much water I consumed, it still lingered in my head for couple of hours. I think I might have just puked my brains out from drinking massive amounts of alcohol the night before, which enhanced the headache even more.

I cleaned all day. (the whole house)

Tried working on the blog, (which was unsuccessful, due to the my knowledge in graphic design)

Fixed my dress for couple min. (made some finishing touches)

C.R.P meeting (picking out pics from the photoshoot)

Went home and worked on the blog with Victoria.

Talks, talks and more talks.

Off to Hollywood Grill.
